We are so very appreciative of the tremendous support of our loyal customers and community. We do not take that support lightly. Your support to shop local has been incredible and it’s been our absolute pleasure to help you get through these strange times with some self-care acts for your vanity and sanity…
Nothing will ever take away the need for, and the value of, the personal connections that are so vital to the work we do.
I am deeply blessed and thankful for the overwhelming support of all of my staff members throughout this year. If you have been coming to Glo over the many years, you will know that our team is truly the backbone of our spa and salon and my family. The never-failing smiles, even with the challenges of this crazy and disappointing 2020 year. My team is still full of smiles and laughter and kindness – truly an inspiring culture to witness while many of us see only struggle, they still hold hope in their prayers and offerings and hope for good fortune in the future.
In Bali, nature and the universe have their way of restoring balance in this world. I can only hope that the future is kinder to everyone and that the world heals asap :) Now there’s plenty I can say about the things to be thankful for in these hard days, but I spend today thinking about a few things that I have immense appreciation for - things that our Glo family has appreciated in 2020. Here’s our Gratitude Flashback :
JAN : Great start of the year and so looking forward to doing what we love, serving our guests and over 160+ weddings lined up for the year plus we have our new senior Makeup Artist joining from Melbourne.
FEB : We sold a lot of LOVE GIFT CERTIFICATES along with our BRING-A-Friend Special Spa Deal
MAR : March into wellness.. guests were still flocking into Glo for SPA DAYS at the beginning of Bali 'soft' lockdown.
APR : We have launched our new Cosmetic Treatments at Glo. Plus, launching our new brow services: Brow Lamination. First Brow Lamination service the island.
MAY : We teamed up with Bali Children Foundation & Margaret Barry to raise money to help the local villages around Mt. Agung in this time of need. We raised over 25 million and did our first food and essential items drop.
JUN : The airport is still closed for tourists, but we continue to be operational at Glo Canggu & Glo Sanur and busy with our back-to-work post lockdown June Specials. Grateful!
AUG :Our August Daily Specials continue to bring people to Glo every day - because who doesn’t like Happy Hour when it’s on Monday - Sunday. Thanks to the community!
SEP : Our international borders are still closed - but some positivity when beautiful Balinese royal princess and influencer Lindy Klim joins as our brand ambassador and I still recall how much it made me smile :)
OCT : Introducing our new services - Makeup Lessons with Paige our Head Makeup Artist, and instead of doing weddings we are doing fashion Photoshoots. Yay! Plus launching our new Hair Botox and Hair Glossing services.
NOV : We WON the prestigious “BEST BEAUTY SALON OF THE YEAR - South Asia 2020 by the World Luxury Spa Awards. (Yes, something BIG did happen!)
DEC : Tis’ the Season of Giving this Christmas - partnered with my daughter Sienna Sutherland from Bali Island School - she raised over 10-million rupiah and we do our third donation and essentials drop to the families in need in other villages at the base of Mount Agung.
I am beyond grateful to my staff, our guests, our members, our suppliers, and to all of you. We are better together... We have made it through this crazy year and will come out the other side stronger, more resilient, and better. Wishing you all health and happiness. From our family to yours... From our hearts to yours.....
